Valis's fashion sense, the early influences?

The movie Virtuosity (russell crowe, denzel washington) came out in 1995, i would have been 19/20 when i saw it and i liked it very much! It was actually russell crowe's FIRST American film role. i re-watched a bit of it last night and it hit me... hmmmm... i wonder if this movie influenced me in some way... what do you think?

hmmmmm... i dunno... nah... probably not... ;)

I always wondered where you got that thing. ;)

Dude, disco is dead. If we're fortunate it won't be resurrected.

Valis's fashion sense

That's always an interesting section to watch and cleverly put to the Stayin' Alive music, which rather adds a great deal to the scene. Virtuosity, however, wasn't Russell's first American film. It was filmed from January25-May9 of 1995, and in late '93 and early '94 he'd filmed The Quick and the Dead, the summer of '94 he'd filmed Rough Magic, and in the fall of '94 No Way Back, all
American films. So Virtuosity was actually his 4th American film and his 14th film of any sort.

Re: Valis's fashion sense

someone needs to change that darn wikipedia article! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russell_crowe

all of those films were released in 95, so he had a good year as far as that goes.

imdb shows that the quick and the dead was released 10 February 1995
no way out - 20 December 1996
virtuosity - 4 August 1995
rough magic - 30 May 1997

so i guess virtuosity was his second film, course you can't believe everything you read on the internets :)

thanks for the correction!

Re: Valis's fashion sense

It's rather like last year. The order of filming bears no resemblance to the order of release. For 2007 he had three in the can, Yuma, American Gangster, and Tenderness...the release dates for each of which were in reverse order to their filming. Tendernesss, filmed first of the three, hasn't even been released yet. It's just to keep us all confused. It works!

I know, I know! Hanging head in shame that I even know these things. Sigh.

I keep thinking about that bit in Time Bandits when Darkness was bitching about stupid crap that God created. "......Slugs? Nipples for men?!"

Even before the static image of the video loaded, I knew what clip it was going to be.
